Tucson Photographer Michael Kloth to Teach PPA Workshop on AI Workflows for Photographers

TUCSON, Ariz., Aug. 10, 2026: Michael Kloth, MFA, CPP, will teach a Professional Photographers of America workshop Sept. 3 in Tucson on using artificial intelligence in photography businesses while maintaining an individual writing voice and consistent business identity.

Found and Not Generic: Using AI Without Losing Your Voice” will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Conference Lounge at Spoke Coworking Lounge & Suites, 6700 E. Speedway Blvd. PPA lists Kloth as the instructor and provides registration through its Fall 2026 photography workshop program.

The full-day workshop will focus on two areas of Kloth’s work with AI: documenting the information AI systems need to accurately describe a photography business, and using AI-assisted writing without replacing the photographer’s individual voice with generic language. Participants will work with information from their own businesses as they build a working voice guide, document business identity information and test how current AI tools describe their businesses.

“AI became much more useful to me when I stopped treating it as a writing machine and started documenting the information it needed to understand my business,” Kloth said. “Photographers already make deliberate decisions about voice, style and authorship in our photographs. I think we should bring the same attention to the words we publish.”

Kloth began integrating AI into Michael Kloth Photography in June 2025. That work later became The Art of Photography AI: The Art and Business of Photography in the Era of AI, a peer-to-peer newsletter for working photographers navigating AI, with a companion YouTube channel. His current work includes testing AI search visibility, documenting business identity for AI systems and developing methods for maintaining an individual writing voice while working with generative AI.

Kloth has been a member of Professional Photographers of America since 2008 and has held the Certified Professional Photographer credential since 2010. He founded Michael Kloth Photography in Lexington, Kentucky in 2006, relocated to Richland, Washington in 2008, and has operated in Tucson since 2011.
